It gets really scary when a country that’s both stuck in the victim mindset and in possession of WOMD cranks up the propaganda machine to espouse words like “liberty” and “freedom”. Possibly this means they’ve the liberty to bomb the shit out of foreigners, who are free to die?

Oh, I whole-heartedly agree with EVERYTHING in your post. Having lived here my entire 39 years and being a federal employee for the past 9 years, I see this all too often. I’ve put my neck out there on several occasions and, yes, I have been shunned by the upper echelons. I’m still here, I’m still ranting to my, ahem, superiors on a daily basis. Many of us are disgusted with the actions of the current (and past) administrations, especially when they attempt to justify these actions in the “name of democracy.” We protest, we get arrested. We speak out, we are “out of line” or labeled unpatriotic. It’s sick. So very sick. Things are slowly turning around and now with the upcoming election, people of ALL voting ages are engaged. Let’s just hope the voting machines aren’t hacked as they were in the past two elections.

I can’t remember the name of the comedian who said this but he called us the “United States of Entertainment”…so very sad. I can’t take our government seriously and this country has lost the world’s respect. I just hope it isn’t too late to turn that around.

I totally agree with you. This country has harrassed, bullied, and destroyed societies that stood in its way since its inception. Our forefathers’ (!) treatment of the Native Americans and their acceptance of black slavery to appease the southern signers of the Constitution stained our newborn nation. We hardly did better with our land-grabbing wars as our nation “grew.” But it really became “fun” when we began exporting our militarism in the Spanish-American War. Even with all that, I am not saying that many American individuals aren’t generous with their money and materials during disasters, but very few of our leaders through our history have clean hands when it comes to exporting the American brand of terrorism. It’s just a damn shame that it took this long for a woman candidate to be taken seriously, and even she supports military action. Aieee! We need more men and women with more democracy and less facism running our government. I hope we begin with this November’s election.

Is it really humanity in decay? I’m coming to the view that it is more the result of the reach of Anglo-American liberal democracy concerned only about drawing back in other’s resources to drive economic growth and propagating the brainwashing to ensure all citizens of these countries think economic growth actually matters one ounce of crap, as each day the future is mined, eg. climate change, etc. This leaves us with a framework that is simply a front for legitimizing legal entities to screw people and weaker nations over, making property rights precedent over human rights.

With more accountable forms of liberal democracy or social democracy, maybe humanity wouldn’t appear to be in a state of rigor mortis. Under such conditions it may be possible for nations strangled by the Anglo-American liberal democratic tradition to stop inserting weak, partisan and despotic figureheads to terrorize nations that have desirable resources to ship to the global marketplace.

Until the delusion that the next dollar is the end game is smashed, this abhorrent crap will just keep on keepin’ on. A circuit-breaker is needed so the masses will snap out of this BS.
